Rafter A35 Connection
Making a rafter connection to a building ledger a
long time ago wouldn't require any hardware. Current engineering and
construction processes seem to require more hardware than ever before
and it seems to be getting worse.
Pretty soon there's going to be more metal hardware then wood in a
house.
Looking at the rafters and other building materials, used to build this
patio roof, it doesn't look that old. Normally this would require a
hanger to make this connection and meet current building codes.
A-35's however are a good choice for a situation like this and could be
used for older patios that have no hardware or hangers to strengthen the
connection between the rafter and of building's ledger.
A-35's can be used to strengthen a number of connections throughout the
framing of a house during construction.
