allow enough air into the crawlspace area for proper ventilation. The
louvers restrict the air movement and over time the crawlspace could
suffer from excessive moisture.
Too much moisture could create wood rot and attract termites.
Louvered vents were installed over the original quarter inch square
screening that was probably damaged from age or poor maintenance.
This is another one of those instances, where installing something to
cosmetically solve one problem, creates another problem.
