Large Wood Gable Vent
This is an older house, with an old wood gable
vent.
I love to see large gable vents like this because they provide great
ventilation for the attic.
Make sure you check the screening behind the gable vents like this one.
Most of the time you'll find screening that is used for window screens,
attached to the back of these wood gable vents. This type of screening
restricts air movement throughout the attic.
If the screening is damaged you can replace it with a galvanized wire
screening. Try to find a screens with a maximum of quarter inch squares.
This provides great ventilation while keeping out insects and small
animals.
