Bricks Under Stair Tread Problem

The bricks that are under the stair treads are definitely a clear sign that there is stair stringer damage and the lower stair tread will need to be repaired as soon as possible.

These bricks or blocks sometimes create more harm than good. There is a possibility that the blocks or bricks can move to the back or front of the stair tread, this would allow the stair tread to tilt or fall forward, creating a trip hazard.

These blocks might seem like a good idea and can be used temporarily until the repairs have been made properly.

Something like this should be repaired as soon as possible. To repair these stairs the stringers might actually have to be replaced and that would involve removing the lower section of the stairway and then rebuilding it.

Some repairs look easier than others and if this is the only loose stair tread, there are other ways to repair the damage.

This is where a creative contractor or carpenter can save you a lot of frustration and money.
