Roofing Nails In Attic
It's not uncommon to see nails sticking through
the plywood or roof sheeting.
The arrow is pointing to a larger nail that quite possibly could be part
of the framing and not the roofing.
The smaller nails below the arrow are galvanized nails and there is a
good chance they are holding something down and it's probably part of
the roofing.
These nails are not a big problem and realistically should not even be
mentioned by the home inspector.
If you see a cluster of nails like this one, in the one area of the roof
sheeting that seems to look out of place, make sure you go on top
of the roof and see if you can find out what it is holding down and why
they drove so many nails into it. The more nails, the more holes for
water to leak into and create water damage to the building.
