Was There A Tree Here
In the picture above the black circle represents
an area where a tree could have been removed. If you notice the sidewalk
is raised up slightly and there is a low spot in the ground in front of
the sidewalk.
I examined the brick wall and there is a large vertical crack in it and
this is a good sign of tree root problems. It probably wouldn't be hard
to dig a small hole, less than 12 inches deep to find clues, whether
there was a tree there were not.
Don't forget to ask the homeowners or even one of the neighbors about
the tree or other items of interest while doing your home inspection.
If the tree was removed, find out why and if there was more damage
caused from the tree.
Clues like this could lead to questions and answers that would benefit
your home inspection.
