Structural Concrete Wall Damage
These exterior concrete walls are a good example
of poured in place concrete walls. These walls would have been poured in
sections, over a few days, without rebar reinforcement. This type of
construction is no longer allowed because of problems like the ones
you're looking at.
The large crack in between the two windows on the left side of the
picture that runs horizontal are definitely major structural crack.
This crack looks like it runs all the way through the wall and could be
creating a structural hinge point. The window frames could be all that
is holding up these walls at the moment.
Sometimes you can take photographs and send them to a structural
engineer for a property evaluation. This might not cost as much money
and could save the engineer a trip to the property.
