Blown In Attic Insulation
Ahhhh, good old blown in attic insulation. This
attic would be hard to walk through and is a good example of an attic
most people should stay out of. Make sure anyone that works on your
house has liability insurance, just in case they fall through the
ceiling while walking in the attic and got hurt.
The blown in attic insulation looks like it's pretty thick and it would
be hard to find the ceiling joist or other structural framing members to
walk on safely.
This blown in insulation is pink and comes in other colors like white or
gray.
Most cellulose fiber insulation or another name for blown in attic
insulation is rock wool insulation and has an approximate R value of 3.5
per inch.
This kind of insulation has basically been replaced by fiberglass batt
installation.
