Moisture From Soil Stucco Damage

Whenever you have
dirt or soil up against an exterior stucco wall, it could be susceptible to
water or moisture in the soil getting absorbed into the stucco and damaging
wall.
Stucco will actually absorb moisture and then start to form
bubbles like those in the picture above. It won't be long before these
bubbles start to crack and fall off of the wall, exposing sections of the
stucco.
The picture below provides you with an excellent example of
what you're building could look like if you don't take the necessary steps
to either reduce the amount of moisture in the soil, separate the soil from
the wall or install a weep screed at the bottom of the stucco.
