Plants Growing In Wood Fence
A wooden fence with plants growing next to it, around it or even
through it like this one must be checked for wood rot, moss and mold.
The plants should be trimmed away from the fence to prevent damage as
the plants continue to grow.
As a home inspector you will run into problems where the plants are
growing up against a fence or even through a fence in worse conditions
than this. Do the best you can on your inspection and make notes of any
problems you run into.
If the plants are growing to where you can't even see the fence simply
write that on your inspection report.
I have ran into certain situations where the plants and trees were
actually holding the fence up, this could actually become a beneficial
solution to a damaged fence.
